The standard molar enthalpy of formation of liquid hydrogen fluoride ΔfHom(HF, l) = -(303.56 +/- 0.27) kJ*mol-1 at T=298.15 K and po=101.325 kPa has been measured by direct reaction of gaseous hydrogen and fluorine in a bomb calorimeter.This result, combined with the standard molar enthalpy of solution ΔsolHom(HF, l) reported by Johnson et al. (J.Chem.Thermodynamics 1973, 5, 793) gives the standard molar enthalpy of formation of F- (aq) at infinite dilution: ΔfHom(F-, aq, 298.15 K) = -(335.66+/-0.31) kJ*mol-1.
