The thermal reaction of Ru3(CO)9(PPh3)3 with precursors (HL) of binucleating anionic ligands affords the ruthenium(I) dimers Ru2(μ-L)2(CO)4(PPh3)2 in high yield a very distorted octahedral arrangement of the ligands and a very short Ru-Ru distance, 2.5788(3) angstroem.
