(37) This small contribution of monomer emission was apparent in the
time-resolved fluorescence experiments where the decay for the excimer
emission follows the sum of two exponentials and where one of the lifetimes
corresponds to that of pyrene in water. A decay of the monomer can also
be observed in the excimer emission region when the fluorescence of pyrene
in water is measured.
