Enantiopure C₂-symmetric azepanes have been synthesized on solid support as scaffolds for the synthesis of peptidomimetics in combinatorial chemistry. The key step involves Rink resin as a formal equivalent of ammonia in the nucleophilic opening of L-iditol bis-epoxide.
