Nach Kettenverlaengerung des aus D-Glucose darstellbaren 2,4,6-Tridesoxy-3,5-O-isopropyliden-D-threohexose-trimethylendithioacetals nach der Corey-Seebach-Methode mit Propylenoxid, reduktiver Abspaltung der Dithiangruppe und anschliessender Oxidation wird durch Cyclisierung die optisch reine Titelverbindung hergestellt.
