Conclusion
High yields and excellent enantioselectivities were obtained
for most of the substrates studied using various IrꢀN,Pꢀ
complexes. The ꢀpKa values that have been calculated for the
Irꢀcomplexes using DFT indicate that there is a trend in the
decrease of the acidity of the metal hydrides with increasing
basicity of the heterocyclic ligand. The selectivity model was
successfully used to confirm the observed and predicted absoꢀ
lute configuration of the products of hydrogenation.
