Synthetic studies on aromadendrane-type compounds. III. Stereoselective total syntheses of (+)-aromadendrene and (-)-alloaromadendrene

The stereoselective total syntheses of (+)-aromadendrene (5) and (-)-alloaromadendrene (6) were achieved via (+)-(1S,2R,4R,7S,11R)-7-tert-butyldimethylsiloxymethyl-3,3,11-trimethy ltricyclo[6.3.0.0^2,4]undec-8-en-10-one (7) as a common intermediate.
