about 50 ml) in a -dram vial. The vial was vortexed and

heated in an oil bath at 708C for 10 min. The methanol
was evaporated with a gentle stream of argon and TFA
(100ml) was added. The vial was further heated at 708C
for another 10 min and TFA was evaporated from the
reaction mixture with an argon stream. The radioactive
residue was reconstituted in 25 ml of methanol and
injected onto HPLC. The remainder of the procedure
was the same as described above for [*I]MIBG.

We have described a synthesis for a tin precursor that
was prepared in two steps from commercially available
materials. This could be converted to radioiodinated
MIBG and [211At]MABG in reasonable yields and excel-
lent radiochemical purity. This novel tin precursor
provides an additional tool for the synthesis of radio-
halogenated MIBG derivatives at a no-carrier-added level.
