This chemical's molecular formula is Cl4Ge and molecular weight is 214.45. And it belongs to the product category of Inorganics. Germanium tetrachloride is a colourless, fuming liquid with a peculiar, acidic odour. It is used as an intermediate in the production of purified germanium metal.

Ge + 2Cl2 → GeCl4
