Homatropine is a tertiary amine antimuscarinic drug with pharmacological effects similar to atropine. It is normally used as the hydrobromide (also a tertiary amine) to produce mydriasis (pupil dilatation) and cycloplegia (paralysis of the ciliary muscle), thereby permitting examination of the eye and measurement of refractive errors.
