Neutral coordination polymers of Cobalt(II), Copper(II), Zinc(II) and Manganese(II) β-diketonate complexes with fluorescent anthracene dipyridine: Synthesis, structure and luminescence properties

A series of polynuclear complexes (2–5, 7) and dinuclear complex (6) of first row transition metals have been synthesized by the reaction of β-diketonate metal complexes including Mn(II), Zn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) with the fluorescent anthracene ligand 9,10–Bis(4-pyridyl)anthracene (bpanth). All complexes were characterized by single-crystal X-ray structure analysis, FT-IR, UV–vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. Distrinct and interesting luminescent properties of 2–7 were investigated in the solution state.
