  • As we all know, fruit is good for health. Recently, many people eat fruit to lose weight. They think that eating fruit would neither be too full, nor be too nutritious. For them, fruit has become the miraculous cure of beauty, weight and health. Is fruit almighty? Of  course, the answer is indefinite. There are many misconceptions about fruit. Sometimes eating fruit is harmful to our health. 

    The first misconception is that eating bananas with honey is efficient to lose weight. It is true that bananas are rich in dietary fibers that can promote the working of intestines and stomach to help the excretion. If we eat nothing but bananas with honey, we obtain lower calories. As a result, we are thinner than before. But it is not good for our health. The human body does not adapt to such sharp changes. In the long run, the human body would be lacking in proteins and minerals. And our health is in danger.

    The second misconception is about grapefruit. Some people consider that replacing a meal with grapefruit can help lose weight. It is a fact that grapefruit contains much vitamin C but little sugar. If we replace a meal with it, the calories obtained are no doubt under control. After some days, we are sure to be thinner. But if our body is not so strong, do not try this method. Or we can eat some soda biscuits before eating the fruit in case of a stomachache.

    The third misconception is closely related with something called lemon vinegar. As we know, lemon is a good source of vitamins, which can reduce the freckles and black spots. Meanwhile, vinegar is able to decompose the fat. Therefore, some people believe that drinking lemon vinegar after meals can make us beautiful. However, both lemon and vinegar are so sour that they would do harms to our stomachs.

    The fourth misunderstanding is eating apples to lose weight. Some people choose to eat apples instead of ordinary meals in order to lose weight. They hold the view that apple is nutritious but low in calories. But they neglect the fact that apple does not contain all necessary nutrition needed by vital activities. After some time, the weight would go up again and the human body could not bear the imbalanced diet.

    The last misconception about beauty and fruit is related to pineapples. Pineapple is rich in vitamin B, which helps promote the metabolism and relax the body. At the same time, a great many dietary fibers can accelerate the digestion and absorption. But eating pineapples before anything is not appropriate. When the stomach is empty, the enzymes would hurt the organ. So pineapple is only good when you eat it after meals.
