  • Many people always suffer from great hunger or psychological pressure when they stay up late at night because of surfing on the Internet or working overtime, thus may affect their sleeping quality. In such a case, they can choose some food which contain very low calorie but can relieve mental stress and help improve sleeping quality. We will introduce the following five kinds of low-calorie food to ease your mental stress.

    First, warm milk
    Dairy products contain calcium and other components, such as whey protein, which can help burn the excessive fat. Under the condition that the total calorie intake remains the same, if we increase the intake of dairy products in daily diets, it will greatly contribute to reducing the excessive fat, and help you control your weight healthily at the same time.

    It is already known to all that a glass of warm milk before bedtime is helpful to sleep. However, as milk contains some calories itself, so you'd better choose low-fat plain milk.

    Second, wine
    The vitamin C, E and carotenoids contained in red wine have effect, which can improve the function of metabolism, and can make the skin better. Red wine is rich in iron, and the alcohol itself has the effect of invigorating blood circulation and warming human body, so it can improve sleeping quality, warm waist and kidney, as well as effectively reduce the accumulation of the water in human body.

    High-quality red wine is made entirely of fermented grapes without any additives. It tastes a little sour and sweet. The wine which tastes very sweet must contain a lot of sugar. A glass of this kind of red wine (about 250 ml) contains about 240 calories, which is almost the same as that of a bowl of rice. So you should not drink too much red wine before bedtime.

    Third, Honey
    Honey has an excellent bactericidal and detoxifying effect, which can help excrete the accumulated waste out of the body. Therefore, the metabolic function of the body is improved. If the sugar contained in honey can be transported from the stomach into the blood, it will turn into energy, and soon relieve fatigue.

    Drinking a cup of honey with warm water can help improve your sleep, supplement a variety of trace elements, loosen bowel and relieve constipation.

    Fourth, banana
    Banana is actually a kind of natural "sleeping pill". Besides the function of stabilizing serotonin and melatonin, it also contains magnesium, which can relax the muscles. In addition, banana is rich in fiber, so it can promote bowel movement.

    But you should note that banana contains relatively high calories, with 80 to 100 kilocalories in each banana. If you have eaten too much starch or meat at dinner, then you'd better eat fewer bananas before bed.
