  • It is known to all that we should eat less and simple food at supper. However, it doesn't mean that supper has no importance at all or should be ignored by us. In fact, if we want to have a healthy life, we should also pay attention to supper. Generally speaking, there are mainly four principles for a healthy supper.

    Firstly, do not eat too much at supper.
    If you eat too much food at supper, it will definitely increase the burden on the stomach and intestine, which will cause insomnia and dreaminess. As time passes, it will easily lead to diseases such as neurasthenia. If the middle-aged people always eat too much at supper, it will repeatedly stimulate the secretion of insulin, thus leading to diabetes.

    At the same time, if you eat too much at supper, there must be some proteins that can not be digested and absorbed. Under the action of the bacteria in the intestine, these proteins will produce toxic substances. Besides, as the intestinal peristalsis slows down during the sleep, it relatively extends the residence time for these substances in the intestinal tract. As a result, it may lead to colon cancer.

    Secondly, do not eat too much meat dishes at supper.
    Medical researches find out that for those who always eat meat at supper, their level of blood fat is three to four times higher than that of those who always eat vegetables.

    For people suffering from hyperlipidemia and hypertension, eating too much meat at supper will make their diseases much more serious. In addition, too much meat at supper will increase the content of cholesterol in the body. While the excessive cholesterol will accumulate on the blood vessel wall, over time, it might cause atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease.

    Thirdly, do not eat too much sweet food at supper.
    It is inappropriate to eat too much sweet food at or after supper. After being digested, sugar can be decomposed into fructose and glucose, which will change into energy and fat respectively after being absorbed by human body. As people seldom do any exercises after supper, so eating too much sweet food at supper will make the fat accumulate in the body. Over time, it will make you fat.

    Fourthly, do not eat supper too late.
    You should not eat supper too late, otherwise, it will easily cause urinary tract stones. According to test, the peak time of urination for human is usually four to five hours later after eating. So if people eat supper too late, it will postpone the peak time of urination until midnight or even early in morning. However, at that time, people are always deep in sleep, so they are often unwilling to get up to urinate. As a result, the calcium salt and urine will retain in the urinary tract, and form calcium oxalate with uric acid. When the concentration of oxalate is very high, it will easily cause stones.
