A novel and convenient one-pot synthesis of polyfunctional tetrahydropyrimidine analogues through a Lewis acid catalyzed multicomponent reaction is disclosed. This domino reaction proceeds smoothly inmoderate-to-good yields with formation of four C-N bonds in one step. The products are interesting nitrogen heterocycles that contain α- and β-amino acid blocks. Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 2008.
