The bis(1,3-dithiolium) dications (8) and (12) have been prepared from 1,4-di(bromomethyl)naphtalene and 9,10-di(chloromethyl)-anthracene, respectively; system (8) forms a semiconducting radical ion salt with TCNQ, ?_rt 1E-3 S cm^-1.
