Porphyrins unsymmetrically substituted with 3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl (DtB4HP) and 4-nitrophenyl (4-NP) groups, have been synthesised and characterised.Their aerial oxydation in basified dichloromethane solution has been studied, using u.v.-visible spectroscopy, and compared with their half-wave potentials (E⁰) obtained from cyclic voltammetry.
