Resolution of racemic oxiranes has been achieved through their conversion into hydroxy sulfonium salts of dibenzoyltartaric acid.Thus, resolution of n-octadecyl glycidyl ether followed by reaction with phosphorylcholine and acetylation led to C₁₈-P.A.F.
