Nucleophilic attacks on π-allylpalladium complexes derived from O₂N-Ph-(CH-CH-CH)-Ph-X systems (X = 4-OMe and 4-Cl) occur preferentially at the allylic terminus remote from the electron-withdrawing group (NO₂).
