AFRICANE- AND SANTALANE-TYPE SESQUITERPENOIDS FROM THE LIVERWORT PORELLA CAESPITANS VAR. SETIGERA

The structures of two new africane- and a new santalane-type sesquiterpene alcohols, isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of the liverwort Porella caespitans var. setigera, have been established by chemical and spectral means.This is the first report of the isolation of these skeleton types of sesquiterpenoids from liverworts.
