Five-membered deoxyazasugars of D-gluco configuration, bearing an aminomethyl, a bromomelhyl or a thiomethyl group at the pseudo anomeric position, were prepared by nucleophilic opening of C₂ symmetric bis-aziridines followed by chemoselective
