Condensation of 4-methyl-4-trichloromethylcyclohexa-2,5-dienone with cyclopentadiene gave the first representative of cross-conjugated pentafulvenes of the para-semiquinoid series: 1-cyclopentadienylidene-4-methyl-4-trichloromethylcyclohexa-2,5-diene. Thi
