All six 1,4-diacetoxy-2,3-dimethyl-cyclopentanes have been prepared starting from 2, 3-dimethyl-4-hydroxy-2-cyclopentenone. ¹H-NMR spectral parameters, allowing configurational assignment, are discussed.
