N-Alkyl-N-(1-hydroperoxyalkyl)nitrosamines were prepared by treatment of the corresponding 1-acetoxyalkyl nitrosamines with hydrogen peroxide in acetic acid through an acid-catalyzed nucleophilic substitution.
