Pd(II) effects the regiospecific addition of carbanions to dihydrofuran at the ring oxygen-bearing carbon.A similar regiospecific alkylation of acetoxydihydropyrans catalyzed by Pd(0) is also reported.Initial examples of the stereoselectivity of these reactions are also given.
