Highly lipophilic, electrically neutral ionophores for Ba2+-selective solvent polymeric membrane electrodes has been prepared.Sensors based on such ionophores exhibit a rejection of alkali metal ions of about 103.They are suitable for the titration of SO2-4 with Ba2+ in nonaqueous systems.More than 100 titrations may be performed with no loss in the electromotive behavior of the electrodes.
