fluorescence enhancement and quenching in aqueous
medium, respectively. The fluorescence sensing mechanism
based on Lewis acid-base interaction and electrostatic
interaction has been verified by acid-base titration and
lanthanide ion titration, which is also theoretically confirmed.
It is important that the observed detection limit of 45 ppb,
which is considerably lower than the higher limit of U.S. EPA
