FULL PAPER
The temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) experiments were
performed using quartz microreactor which was a measuring cell of the
vibrating sample magnetometer. The heating rate was of 10°C/min at the
reduction gas (5%H2/Ar) flow of 30 cm3/min for the catalyst loading of
0.02 g.

The performance of the catalysts in Fischer–Tropsch synthesis was
tested in a down flow stainless steel fixed-bed reactor with ID 16 mm.
Catalyst (0.2 g) was mixed with 1 cc of quarts sand to avoid hot spots
formation and this mixture was loaded into the isothermal zone of the
reactor. The catalysts were activated at normal pressure in synthesis gas
flow (CO:H2 = 1:2) at 350°C for 2 h. Followed by the activation, the
catalysts were tested in hydrocarbons synthesis at the following
conditions: T 240°C, P 20 bar, feed gas composition CO:H2:Ar =
0.32:0.64:0.04, gas flow rate 16 NL/(gcath). Temperature was controlled
by thermocouple introduced in the middle of catalyst bed.

Product gases (C1–C4 hydrocarbons, CO2) were analyzed by “LKM-80”
gas chromatograph (1 m × 3 mm columns filled with 5A molecular sieves
and Porapak Q, helium as a carrier gas, TCD). Internal standard (argon)
premixed in feed gas was used for quantitative analysis of these values.
Liquid hydrocarbons C5+ were collected in container at ambient
temperature and analyzed by Biokhrom-1 instrument (quartz capillary
column 50 m × 0.25 mm, stationary phase OV-101, nitrogen as a carrier
gas, PID). Water phase analysis was performed by “Model 3700” gas
chromatograph equipped with FID. The C5+ selectivity was calculated by
difference from the total mass balance and the amount of C1–C4 and CO2
gases.
