An attempt was made to investigate the chemical transformation of nitrates of iron, cobalt, nickel, manganese, and calcium on the surface of an electrothermal atomizer consisting of a graphite rod of segmental cross section by carrying out experiments on the interaction of the nitrates with the carbon of the atomizer working element, and determining the structure of the produced compounds, in which form the elements enter the analytical volume.
