  Using 3 mol % of Zn(OTf)2 and the optimal conditions for production of 6, reactions of 1 with various R,â-unsaturated ketones were examined (Table 2). Cyclic enones 5a-d and several acyclic enones 5h-j all gave excellent  yields of the desired product.
