  We also utilized isoxazoline  N-oxide derivatives to achieve substituted cinnamaldehyde derivative and highly functionalized long-chain diketohalocyano skeletons (C, Scheme 1). In our recent publication on the halonium ion mediated C−C bond cleavage of isoxazoline N-oxide (A), we envisaged that the long-chain diketohalocyano skeleton (C, Scheme 1) was formed via a nitric oxide intermediate (B).
