Halonium ion mediated synthesis of 2-halomethylene-3-oxoketoxime derivatives from isoxazoline N-oxides

In our case, to reduce the keto group selectively, we treated the compound 1a with lithium aluminum hydride, and we were pleased to find that 3-hydroxyketoxime (1c) was formed (Scheme 4 and Figure 2). This result is very important and interesting as it produces a special type of Baylis−Hillman oxime, which contains a 3-bromo functionality.
