Organic rhodium

Organic rhodium compounds, also known as organorhodium compounds, are a class of organometallic compounds featuring carbon-rhodium bonds, where rhodium is bonded to organic groups. These compounds are highly significant in catalysis, particularly in homogeneous catalysis for organic synthesis and industrial processes. Organorhodium catalysts are renowned for their ability to facilitate a wide range of chemical transformations, including hydrogenation, hydroformylation, carbonylation, and C-H activation. The versatility and efficiency of rhodium catalysts make them essential in producing fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and petrochemicals. Examples include Wilkinson's catalyst (RhCl(PPh3)3) and rhodium carbonyl complexes, which play pivotal roles in both academic research and industrial applications.
