  • When Is the Best Time to Eat Fruits?
  • As we all know, fruits are very nutritious and have a lot of benefits on human health, so they have become an indispensable part in our daily diet. Nowadays, more and more people are used to eating some fruits after they have the meal, thinking it is beneficial to their health. This has become a common habit among many people. Then, whether the habit of eating fruits after the meal is scientific or not? In fact, according to the recent studies, it is found that eating fruits after the meal is not scientific. There are mainly the following four reasons:

First of all, if you eat fruits after the meal, the fruits will be easy to block the stomach with other food, which will lead to flatulence, constipation and other symptoms. This can bring adverse effects on the digestive function.

Secondly, fruits contain a large number of sugars, such as glucose, fructose, sucrose, starch, and so on. As a result, eating fruits after the meal will increase the burden on the stomach, intestines and pancreas. In particular, if the fruits are unripe, they tend to contain much higher content of starch, which is more difficult to be digested by the body.

Thirdly, fruits are rich in cellulose, hemicellulose, pectin and so on, all of which have a strong water absorbability. After the fruits have absorbed the water, they will expand and increase the sense of fullness in human body, making people feel uncomfortable. Especially when there is too much cellulose, it will also affect the absorption of certain nutrients in the body.

Fourthly, for the people who need to lose weight, if they eat a lot of fruits after having eaten the meal, it will enlarge their stomach, thus leading to obesity.

As a result, it is inappropriate to eat fruits immediately after the meal. In general, it is better to eat fruits one hour before the meal or two hours after the meal. What's more, you should pay attention that some kinds of fruits are not suitable to eat when your stomach is empty, such as persimmon or some unripe fruits. Because these fruits contains tannic acid, which, when meet with calcium or iron, will form a kind of persimmon stone, resulting in the occurrence of stones in the stomach. As a result, if you want to know how to eat fruits is beneficial to your health, you have to first learn the nature of different fruits.
