Ultraviolet rays in the sunlight can penetrate into the human skin and transform 7-dehydrocholesterol into vitamin D. vitamin D can improve the absorption of calcium and phosphorus for the gastric and intestinal tracts. If pregnant women often bathe in the sun, they can get adequate vitamin D and further ensure the healthy growth of the bones and teeth of the babies. Adequate vitamin D can also protect the babies from getting rickets and decayed teeth innately. In order to ensure the health condition of the fetuses, pregnant women must often bathe in the sun in the open air. They can also take some exercises when they bathe in the sun.
The second skill is to supplement calcium by diet therapy. When women are pregnant, the intake of various nutrients including calcium will be reduced obviously. While the fetuses will be in greater need of these nutrients when they grow more and more mature. The growth of the bones and teeth can not leave calcium. Most of pregnant women can not absorb enough calcium for the fetuses to make use of. In order to deal with such a problem, diet therapy has been developed. Pregnant women must often eat the foods which contain abundant calcium. For example, milk and yogurt contain rich calcium and these foods are easy for pregnant women to digest and absorb.
The last skill is to supplement vitamin D and calcium from the middle stage of pregnancy. After 16 weeks of pregnancy, pregnant women should begin to supplement vitamin D and calcium. Nowadays, the products of supplementing calcium are rather diverse. Women should choose the ones with convenient usage, low price and few side effects. At the same time, the products should also be easy for pregnant women to absorb.
Pregnant women should supplement calcium and vitamin D according to their own physical conditions. They can ask the doctors for advice. When they supplement these nutrients, they should go to doctors frequently so as to adjust the supplementation plan in time.
