  • The ability of synthesizing melanin by melanophores determines whether the skin is white or not. The proper diet in the daily life can effectively whiten the skin. However, it is important to remember certain foods can affect the whitening effect. People should not eat these foods excessively. 

    The first kind of food is the food with dark colors. The food with light colors like milk and eggs can accelerate the removal of melanin and reduce the burdens of the internal organs. The food with dark colors can just play the opposite roles. Therefore, people should decrease the intake of these foods like coffee, black fungus and black sesame.

    The second kind of food is the fried food. The fried food smells delicious. But the harms of it can not be ignored. The excessive intake of fried food can cause obesity and accelerate the aging. People can reduce the intake amount and supplement vitamin E before eating the food so as to resist the aging to some degrees.

    The third kind of food is photosensitive fruits and vegetables. The photosensitive vegetables can easily make the skin color become dark, as the metallic elements like copper, iron and zinc can directly or indirectly increase the quantity and liveness of tyrosinase and dopamine to accelerate the formation of melanin. The photosensitive fruits mainly include lemon, pawpaw and green cucumber. Most of the fruits with splendent skin are photosensitive. Therefore, people should increase the intake of the vegetables and fruits which can restrain the pigmentation, such as strawberry and cabbage.

    The fourth kind of food is the food containing abundant tyrosinase and rare elements. According to the research, the activity of tyrosinase has a close relationship with copper, iron and zinc inside the human body. The frequent intake of the foods containing these elements and tyrosinase can make the skin color turn dark. The foods mainly include animal liver, black sesame, hyacinth bean and walnut seed and so on.

    The fifth kind of food is food additive. The healthy internal organs can maintain the normal metabolism for the human body to remove the melanin. However, the excessive intake of food additive can increase the burden of the internal organs and cause the formation of black spots and freckles. Nowadays, various foods contain the additive. People must be quite careful when choosing the foods.

    It does not mean that the foods mentioned above can not be eaten by the human body. People should just eat the foods moderately, as the excessive intake can affect the whitening effect.
