The synthesis of the complexes trans- (X = Cl, Br, I, SCN) is described.These complexes undergo ready insertion of the CNMe ligand into the Pd-C6Cl5 bond to give pentachlorobenzimidoyl-bridged derivatives 2X2(CNMe)2>.
