Regioselectivity in opening cis and trans isophorol epoxides by treatment with trimethylamine dihydrofluoride (Me3N, 2HF) is observed. 1,2- and 1,3-Diols with respectively tertiary fluorine at position-3 and secondary fluorine at position-2 are obtained.T
