When treated with a mixture of ClMe2SiCH2CH2SiMe2Cl and excess NaI, cis- (1) afforded , the structure of which was determined by the X-ray analysis.On the other hand, treatment of 1 with Me3GeCl in the presence of excess NaI gave two germylated dinitrogen complexes trans- and mer-.
