When nitrofluorinated with HNO3 in anhydrous HF, the pentafluorophenol ethers C6F5OR (R=CHF2, C6F5) add the nitronium cation to the para and ortho positions with respect to the substituent or eventually to form the corresponding 3-nitrocyclohexa-1,4-diene
