(Cp'AlCl2)2 (Cp' = Me4EtC5) and (Cp*AlCl2)2 (Cp* = Me5C5) react with alkyl and arylalkali metal compounds under elimination of LiCl and KCl, respectively, to give the disubstituted,dimeric aluminum chlorides (Cp'RAlCl)2.The crystal structure of a = 9.150(3) Angstroem, b = 13.006(4) Angstroem, c = 14.350(4) Angstroem, α = 103.51(3) deg, β = 97.35(1) deg, γ = 103.08(1) deg and Z = 2.The reaction of (Cp'AlCl2)2 with lithium amides gives dimeric aminoalanes a = 8.489(3) Angstroem, b = 8.864(3) Angstroem, c = 12.225(5) Angstroem, α = 102.65(3) deg, β = 99.61(3) deg, γ = 107.59(2) deg and Z = 1.Least-squares refinement based on 4327 observed reflections converged to R = 0.0430.
