2-(4-Chlorophenyl)-3-hydroxypropene has been separately converted to both enantiomers of its epoxide.The epoxides were converted to (R)-(-) and (S)-(+)-hydroxysaclofen.Only the latter showed activity as a specific GABA_B antagonist.
