Halogenation of β,β-difluorostyrene gave excellent yields of PhCHXCF2X (X = Cl, Br).Li2CO3/DMF, NaOEt/EtOH, and KOBu/hexane promoted dehydrohalogenation of PhCHXCF2X (X = Cl, Br) gave reasonably good isolated yields of the titled olefins.
