The reactions of o-arsinophenoles with some carboxylic acid derivatives were studied.With imidoyl chlorides the aromatic 1,3-benzoxarsoles are obtained.The reaction proceeds via a primary attack of the arsino group.The spectroscopic data of the benzoxarsoles are discussed and compared with those of benzofurane, benzoxazole and corresponding NH-heterocycles.
