The synthesis of an unsymmetrical cystine peptide corresponding to the sequence 10-25/75-88 of mouse nerve growth factor was performed via the newly developed sulfenohydrazide procedure.The triacontapeptide isolated at a high degree of purity after Sephadex-LH 20 chromatography, did not exhibit in the biological assays the expected nerve growth factor activity as reported by Revoltella and coworkers. - Keywords: Nerve growth factor; Peptide synthesis; Unsymmetrical cystine peptides
