KH can be purified with LiAlH₄ in THF providing a highly active material wich quantitatively converts even hindered trialkylboranes to the corresponding borohydrides, borinate esters to dialkylborohydrides and reduces, with a catalytic amount of a trialkylborane, 1-bromoalkanes.
