round bottom ¯ask dichloropyridine ?0.441 g, 3 mmol),
amine ?3.6 mmol, 1.2equiv.) and K 2CO3 ?8.28 g, 60
mmol) were weighed. Then, the Pd?OAc)2/BINAP solution
was added, and the ¯ask was rinsed with an additional
17 mL toluene. The resulting mixture was subsequently
re¯uxed in an oil bath under N2 with vigorous stirring
until the starting dichloropyridine had disappeared as
judged by TLC and DCI-MS. After cooling down, the
solid material was ®ltered off and washed with 100 mL
CH2Cl2. The solvent was evaporated and the resulting
crude product was puri®ed by ¯ash column chromatography
using the speci®ed eluent.
