  • Nowadays, our daily foods are becoming more and more diverse. Many kinds of delicious foods which can not be seen before have already become a common part of our daily diet. While at the same time, various kinds of high-nutrition foods have been ignored by us, such as cabbage and beet. 

    Cabbage contains rich nutrients, such as sulforaphane which can increase the content of enzyme inside the human body. One important role of enzyme is to stop the generation of free radicals which always destroy the cells and to prevent the cancers. It is proved that compared to other kinds of phytochemicals, sulforaphane has the strongest ability to accelerate the generation of enzyme.

    The nutrients of beet can also not be ignored. This red vegetable contains a large number of folic acid and betaine. These two kinds of chemicals can reduce the homocysteine level. Homocysteine is an inflammatory mixture, which can destroy arteries and increases the risk of heart disease.     Except what have been mentioned above, there are also many other kinds of foods which are full of nutrition but are nearly forgotten by us, such as cinnamon and medlar. Cinnamon can control blood sugar and decrease the rate of heart diseases. It has been found that if the patients absorb about 1 gram of cinnamon for a continuing 6 weeks, the blood glucose, blood fat and cholesterol will be significantly reduced. Among all the fruits, medlar has the highest antioxidant capacity. In addition, according to the research, the sugar in medlar can decrease insulin resistance, and then prevent diabetes.

    Many foods which contain rather rich nutrition have been nearly forgotten by us in daily life. We should make full use of these ordinary foods to improve our health situation.
