  • Five Kinds of Food for Skin-Whitening and Sun-Protection
  • Dermatology finds out that the ultraviolet rays in the sun can stimulate the skin to produce a large number of oxidative free radicals, which may damage the skin tissue, accelerate the oxidation of melanin, thus making skin become dull, rough and lose elasticity, and the resistance of the skin is also decreased. The following five kinds of food can protect our skin from the harms of the sun and make the skin white.

    First, soybean products
Isoflavone in soybean is a kind of phytoestrogen, which can replace part of the role of female hormones to help resist aging. What's more, it also has anti-oxidation ability, so it is an essential food for the women to maintain the skin lustrous and delicate. Soybean products such as tofu and soy-bean milk are good choices.

Second, red and yellow fruits and vegetables and dark green leafy vegetables
Red and yellow fruits and vegetables and dark green leafy vegetables usually contain a large number of carotenes and other phytochemicals, which can help anti-oxidation and improve skin resistance. This kind of food includes carrots, mango, red and yellow tomato, papaya, sweet potato, pumpkin, water spinach and so on.

However, excessive intake of fat-soluble carotenes will accumulate in the body, which is not only toxic, but also easy to make the skin appear "yellow", so doctors advise people not to eat too much.

Third, fruits and vegetables containing high vitamin C
If you want to maintain the skin healthy and bright, almost every dermatologist will advise you to eat more high-vitamin C fruits and vegetables, such as kiwifruit, strawberry, cherry tomato, or citrus.

Fourth, two cups of tea every day
U.S. research indicates that drinking green tea can reduce the peroxides by approximately one third, while the peroxides are the main cause which lead to skin sunburn, chalodermia and roughness. This is mainly due to tea polyphenol, which is a powerful antioxidant. Studies have even pointed out that the oxidation resistance of tea polyphenol is much higher than any traditional vitamins such as vitamin A, C, E.

    Fifth, chocolate
Many scientific researches have confirmed that chocolate is very beneficial for human health, because it contains various kinds of antioxidants, such as cocoa polyphenols and flavonoids, and moderate intake of chocolate is also beneficial to the skin. But as chocolate contains high calories, so you should not eat too much. It's better to choose dark chocolate, with not more than 55 grams per day.
