It is necessary for pregnant women to keep 8 to 10 hours of sleep. Some tips can be used to improve the sleep for expectant mothers. For example, these women can drink a cup of hot milk before they sleep and they should avoid being excited 4 to 6 hours before they go to bed. The indoor temperature should be maintained within 18 to 22 degrees.
Except adequate sleep, proper diet can also enhance the immunity for pregnant women. One important way for women to enhance the immunity through diet is to absorb the trace elements like iron, zinc, and vitamin C from the foods. The adequate intake of protein, vitamins and trace elements can adjust the immune system. Protein is the material base for expectant mothers improve the immune system. The lack of protein can affect the formation of immune cells and antibodies to decrease the disease-resistant ability of the organs. Then various diseases may appear. Vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, pantothenic acid, riboflavin, foilc acid and taurine are all the essential nutrients for women to maintain the normal physiological functions, and the lack of these nutrients can also decrease the immunity. At the same time, the trace elements like copper, iron and zinc keep a close relationship with the immunity. If pregnant women lack the trace elements, the immune functions can be restrained and the infection rate can be increased. The activity of the immune cells is maintained by the cooperation of nutrients like protein fat, inorganic salt and vitamins. Therefore, expectant mothers should supplement various nutrients adequately. In everyday life, they should maintain the balanced diet. Eggs, vegetables, fruits and nuts and so on are all essential foods.
In order to improve the immunity comprehensively, except balanced nutrients and adequate sleep, the clean indoor environment and the moderate sports should also be paid attention to.
